I would like to welcome all of you to the start of the new program year.  In keeping with NCMA’s vision to provide the professional growth and educational advancement of its members, the Board of Directors has planned an aggressive program year.  I want to encourage your participation in attending the workshops, luncheons, and other educational activities that will be available this year.

 

Please pass along any suggestions that you may have for improving the program and be sure to attend the first membership meeting of this program year on October 3, 2001, 11:30 a.m., at the Garden Plaza.  I look forward to seeing you there.

About The Speaker..........

 

 

Mr. Richard Davis is Project Manager of the Architect-Engineer/Construction Manager, Knight/Jacobs Joint Venture.  The Knight/Jacobs Joint Venture is responsible for designing and building the Conventional Facilities for the Spallation Neutron Source Project (SNS) in Oak Ridge.  SNS is a world-class $1.4 billion research project partnership of six DOE national laboratories.

 

Prior to joining the SNS Project, Mr. Davis was Manager of Operations, Western Region, for Jacobs Engineering.

 

Mr. Davis has more than 26 years of experience in engineering and construction.  His experience includes site management, project management, craft supervision, and field engineering.  Projects ranged in size from $500,000 to $800,000,000.  Specific responsibilities include the successful completion of projects within schedule and budget in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.  He developed and implemented project safety execution strategy, safety incentive programs, awards, and recognition programs. Mr. Davis insists on a strong commitment to safety, quality performance, and community involvement.  He credits this commitment to the completion of numerous successful projects.

As of June 30, 2001, the East Tennessee Chapter had 144 members.  Our goal for the 2001/2002 program year is 155 members.  Please assist us in reaching our goal by inviting a guest to the membership meeting.
