Elise Roske called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.

The Officer and Committee update/status reports were as follows:

Secretary:

Education: The decision was made to have a "Best Value" seminar in February. The expected price per person will be $250. NCMA cost is $225 per person plus room and expenses.

Scholarship: Mark Williams needs to know the names of recipients and the total dollars for the 1998 and 1999 awards.

Program: Jill Armstrong reported that Leah Dever is a possible speaker for January. Discussed potential future speakers to include Charles Crowe, Chuck Williams, and Billy Stair-UT Battelle.

Membership: Lisa Oldham reported 163 current members. Are dues going up? We need to locate the status request from Pete Dayton.

Employment: See the website for listings.

Historian: No report.

Graalman: No report

Constitution and Bylaws: No report.

NES: Planning activities are proceeding according to schedule.

Newsletter: Input due by Friday.

Publicity and Website: No report.

Fellows: No report.

Certification: No report

Social and Facilities: Vicki Dyer reported that the NCMA board meetings at the Garden Plaza have been free to NCMA as long as the board orders lunch. In previous months no one has placed orders. We might change meetings to member's conference rooms with a brown bag lunch. The service at the Garden Plaza has been slow and the meetings are often over before the food or checks arrive.

Treasurer: Mark Williams reported that there is a $7,778.80 remaining balance in the checking account. There are no outstanding payments due except the November Garden Plaza bill. One way to reduce the monthly costs is to get a copy of NCMA's tax exemption certificate on file with the Garden Plaza. This will save $60 - $70 per month. Arranging for someone to bring a projector could save $35 and a screen would save $25 per month.

Vice President: No report.

President: Reported for absent chairs and officers. We need to be aware of the board positions and possible placements for the up coming year.
