Mary Berry called the meeting to order at 11:40 a.m.
February meeting minutes were approved.
The Officer and Committee update/status reports were as follows:
Program: Judy Franklin reported that we were continuing to check the availability of Diedre Lee. She should confirm in the next couple of days. Judy is working with James Gallagers office to schedule him to speak on project management in June. Beth Shad, LMES Director of Procurement, may be available to speak in the Fall.
Social: Vicki Dyer reported that we were attempting to reschedule the membership meeting in June from June 2 to June 8 due to a conflict with WATTec. We are set up and ready for NES.
Education: Mary Berry suggested getting workshop topic ideas from the board of advisors. Connie Bayless expressed an interest in a time management workshop.
Newsletter: Donna Waddell reported that she needs input by Friday. Donna will be retiring and Connie Bayless will fill in for the rest of the program year.
Scholarship: Mary Berry reported for McArthur Moore. Beverly Harness is assisting in the selection. We are now receiving applications back from perspective recipients.
Graalman: Debra Hickman will be back in town next week.
NES: Robert Madgett reported that NES is April 7th at the Garden Plaza. Invitation letters were distributed to the board of advisors. 24 participants have registered. Promotional material has been ordered. The Oak Ridger and Knoxville News Sentinel will have the news release and we have also contacted channels 6,8,10, and 43 to request coverage on their bulletin boards.
WATTec: Tracie Rucker reported that topic descriptions were due on the 24th with bios to follow. List of presenters includes John Bartlett, Darrell Von de Linden, Larry Peck, and Larry Clark. The session will be from 2:30-5:30 on Tuesday. WATTec is trying to get Vice President Al Gore to speak at the banquet. NCMA may get a banquet table.
Employment: Al Guidry reported that he had two resumes of potential candidates. The majority of the resumes that he receives is for contract administrators.
Treasurer: David distributed a draft financial report for the teaming seminar held February 23-24, 1999.
Vice President: Elise Roske will propose the 2000 slate of officers in the newsletter. We need someone to represent the East Tennessee Chapter at the Governance meeting on April 17, 1999.
