Joel Pearman called the meeting to order at 11:30 p.m.

 

The Officer and Committee update/status reports were as follows:

 

President: Joel Pearman discussed the need for NES volunteers.  Obtaining the speaker is the biggest challenge.  Vicki Dyer volunteered to ask Steve Hodges for assistance.  A decision was made to award a scholarship in memory of Mark Williams.  A plaque will be designed with the names of recipients added annually. We will vote on bylaws in January.

 

Vice President:

 

National Director: David Wallace will possibly attend the National Board Meeting in December.

 

Secretary:  Katherine Bumgardner will contact Connie Bayless to identify the location of the chapter historical information.  Minutes were presented and discussed from the October board meeting.  A few minor changes were made.  Minutes were later accepted via email.  

 

Treasurer: Seaira Stephenson will send an article to the newsletter. Seaira requested a copy of the chapter logo. Seaira volunteered to send out a pledge announcement for Mark Williams. Seaira will inquire about getting a P.O. box for the chapter.

 

Education: Chuck Williams will conduct a workshop on SBA updates in December.

 

Scholarship: No update.

 

Employment: No update.

 

Membership: The directory is being compiled.

 

Graalman: No update.

 

Newsletter: Deadline for article submittal is November 26, 2001.

 

Program: Mary Berry reported that Charles Crowe will be the speaker for December.

 

Social: Vicki Dyer reported that we had 37 confirmations for the meeting last month.

 

Publicity/Webmaster: Faye Orick is placing ads announcing the membership meetings in the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Oak Ridger.  We can now update the website.  We did not receive invoices from the provider to make payment.

 

Joel Pearman adjourned the meeting at 12:30 p.m.
