East Tennessee Chapter

David Wallace called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.

 

The Officer and Committee update/status reports were as follows:

 

President: Discussed next year’s officer nominations.  Mark Williams will begin the process.  Nominations must be submitted by April.  Membership will vote in June.

 

Vice President: Reported that he will ask Joel Pearman to present the slate of officers.

 

Secretary: Needs articles for the newsletter by Monday.

 

Treasurer: Will follow up with the financial report for the newsletter.  Reported that we had received two checks in membership rebates from national.  Seaira Stevenson will substitute for Judy during any absences.  Judy may be out of town in April.  She will coordinate with Seaira.  There is just one financial report due to national per year.

 

Education: Karen Shears will organize an Equitable Adjustments and Claims Workshop in August.  There are 10 slots available in the George Washington Master’s Certificate Program.  The cost of the course will be $1,005 for members, and $1,250 for non-members.  Joel Pearman will discuss the training program in March.

 

Certification: Mike Criss will be relocating by the end of February.  The study group will continue to meet.

 

Scholarship: No update.  David Wallace will check with MacArthur Moore on scholarships.

 

Employment: No update.

 

Membership: Yvette Cantrell will submit an article for the newsletter.

 

Graalman: No update.

 

NES: Bob Lynch will be heading up NES.  It will be held on May 9, 2001, at the Garden Plaza Hotel.  Breakfast and lunch will be served.  Mr. Lynch is in the process of scheduling a speaker.   An article will be submitted for the newsletter.

 


Program: Tim Myrick is the speaker for March.  The topic will be the Private Development of ORNL.   The April luncheon meeting will be held on the 11th.  Barry Miller will speak in June.

 

Social: Luncheons have increased $1, effective 1/1/2001.  Discussed the feasibility of 10 to a table when there are a lot of last minute reservations.

 

Historian:  No update.

 

Constitution and By Laws: No update.

 

Publicity/Webmaster: David Wallace submitted a contract for the web site update for officer signature.
